The
Magic Never Ends - The Life & Work of C.S. Lewis is
a
co-production of The Duncan Group and Crouse Entertainment
Group. The presenting station for public television in the
USA is Chicago's WTTW-TV.
The
Magic Never Ends was broadcast across America on public television
in 2002. Encore performances began on PBS nationwide during
the fall of 2005.

The
show, which won the 2003 Movieguide Faith & Values Award,
a 2003 EMMY award for best soundtrack and the 2003 Gabriel
Award, features extensive interviews with leading scholars
on the work of C.S. Lewis including Lyle Dorsett, Christopher
Mitchell, Walter Hooper, Dabney Hart and Colin Manlove.
The
Magic Never Ends also features interviews with actress
Debra Winger (from the movie Shadowlands) as well as
C.S. Lewis' stepson, author Douglas Gresham.
The
film chronicles Lewis' life from his early days in Ireland,
through his military service, to his acclaimed career at Oxford
University. Many of his books are covered in detail including
The Chronicles of Narnia, Mere Christianity, The Screwtape
Letters and A Grief Observed. The show also features
The Inklings, The Kilns, and Lewis' renowned love story with
his wife, Joy.
There
is also a companion book to the documentary with the same
title. The book is published by Augsburg Fortress Publications. Both the film and book can be purchased
through this website in the "company
store."
During
the spring of 2005, The Duncan Group began production on a
sequel to The Magic Never Ends called A
QUEST FOR MEANING - Myth, Imagination & Faith in the Literature
of J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis. This one hour documentary
for public television explores the spiritual underpinnings
in the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and George
MacDonald. The presenting station for the PBS system is Iowa
Public Television. No completion date is yet scheduled.
